Crazy Days

The past few days have been crazy busy for me.  I’ve been following some leads on summer employment and picked up a few odd jobs over the weekend, all to supplement (or replace, please) the job I currently have.  I would have searched earlier except I have a job that was supposed to keep me running.

Instead they’ve cut my hours.  Oh well, such is life.  I’m hoping one of my leads will come through soon.

I haven’t been too busy, however, to play Team Fortress 2 for about 4 hours this morning.  I don’t regret a second of it.

Video games act as a big de-stresser for me, and TF2 is one of the big ones.  This game is so much fun and so relaxed, not to mention the new friends I met this morning.  I highly recommend it.

For your enjoyment, here is the original trailer for the game from way back in 2007:

Anyone who plays will get a twitch of nostalgia, for they know that this game has been constantly evolving since it’s release, and this trailer reflects the early days of the game.  Valve is always inventing new ways for us to play, but keeps it playable for all.  If you want to see more videos, and I know you do, check out  There you’ll find another trailer and a video for each member of the team, excluding the Pyro and Medic, who haven’t had theirs released yet.

This game is so beautiful, I mean, one look will tell you that…and for the (amazing) quality of it it’s the cheapest game out there by far.  Hopefully I’ll see you in the game!

That’s all that’s in my head right now, so I’ll let you get on with your day.  I’m getting back to the job front.

  1. The game’s graphics look amazing. Good luck with the job search!

Team Fortress 2 remains one of the few FPS games with any real replay value. I’ve always loved the way they personalise the characters and bring them to life in a way that just doesn’t exist in any other and the effort that’s goes into every patch campaign is staggering, especially since the game remains free to play once it’s bought.

Curious as to what you play that lets you de-stress, its clearly not the pyro or the spy 😉

    • Demoman and Engineer are my favourites, but actually I have been playing a lot of Pyro lately. He’s (and despite online theories I do think “he”) a close second.

There’s just something about dropping from a ledge and lighting a group of enemies on fire that’s incredibly satisfying. I figure that’s what they get for crowding together like that.

You’re right, the replay value is amazing and the game itself can be obtained on the cheap. That’s why I keep coming back.

I’m hoping to do a full entry just on the game at some point soon, it’s too good for a casual mention in an entry about job searching.

      Thanks for the comments!
